Three plans, priced by a deterministic rubric in code. The same brief always gets the same quote — no negotiation theater, no surprise line items.
Three questions, and we name the plan and its starting price. Nothing is stored.
One-time setup from $299
A real multi-page site, operated.
One-time setup from $499
Adds a store or bookings.
One-time setup from $799
The full stack.
Setup is a one-time fee that funds the build. A complex or rushed brief can raise it above the base; the quote is itemized and fixed before you pay anything, and unusual scope gets a human review first.
A setup fee looks large next to a monthly builder plan until you count what the builder leaves to you: the design, the words, every change and the hours they take. Here is the first year of a small-business site, three ways.
| Cost | Kilnworks Starter | A do-it-yourself builder | A local agency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup or build | from $299design, words and launch, done for you | $0you build it yourself | from $6,500 |
| Twelve months | $588$49 a month, hosting included | $204$17 a month, billed annually | $3,600$300 a month retainer |
| Changes after launch | Included, by conversation | You make them yourself | Through the retainer |
| Your time | A ten-minute brief, then your reviews | About 27 hoursour estimate | Briefings and review rounds |
| First-year total | from $887 | $204 plus about 27 hours | from $10,100 |

AI agents (ours, built for this) do the building and the operating. That's why the price is a fraction of an agency retainer. Humans review at defined gates: unusual quotes, accessibility conformance, payments, and anything you dispute. We're not going to pretend there's a big design team here; there's a platform, and it's the same one this site runs on.
After launch you don't get a login and a goodbye. You ask for changes in plain words — new photo, new prices, new page — and they land in minutes. Requests are verified on the live site before they're reported done.
No. Everything on your site — copy, images, data — belongs to you, and you can export all of it, in full, at any time, whether you stay or go.
You choose between two concept directions before we finish the build, and your plan includes revision rounds (one, two, or three, by tier). If you reject the first preview of your site, your setup fee is refunded in full.
A round is one batch of change requests on a preview. When your included rounds are used, further changes are quoted as change orders — we always tell you before anything costs money.
Automated accessibility checks are built in, not an add-on: structure, link names, a declared language, and AA contrast in light and dark. Every page passes those checks before it ships. If one of these checks slips through, fixing it is on us.
Yes. New sites launch on a yourname.kilnworks.studio address, and if you already own a domain you connect it yourself from your owner dashboard: type it in, add the DNS record the page shows you, and the page tells you when your site is live on it, with a secure connection and the old address forwarding there. The domain stays registered to you, where you bought it, and your email keeps working as it does now. We don't sell domains: if you need one, any registrar sells them, and you connect it the same way.
Anytime, no lock-up. Your site stays live until the end of the period you've paid for; export your content whenever you like, before or after.
It funds the actual build — design, copy, and launch — and it's honest filtering: we'd rather work with owners who are serious. It starts at $299, $499, or $799 by tier and is itemized on your quote.
