Setup is a one-time fee that funds the build. A complex or rushed brief can raise it above the base; the quote is itemized and fixed before you pay anything, and unusual scope gets a human review first.

Questions, answered
Who actually builds my site?
AI agents — ours, built for this — do the building and the operating. That's why the price is a fraction of an agency retainer. Humans review at defined gates: unusual quotes, accessibility conformance, payments and domains, and anything you dispute. We're not going to pretend there's a big design team here; there's a platform, and it's the same one this site runs on.
What does “operated” mean?
After launch you don't get a login and a goodbye. You ask for changes in plain words — new photo, new prices, new page — and they land in minutes. Requests are verified on the live site before they're reported done.
Am I locked in?
No. Everything on your site — copy, images, data — belongs to you, and you can export all of it, in full, at any time, whether you stay or go.
What if I don't like the first version?
You choose between two concept directions before we finish the build, and your plan includes revision rounds (one, two, or three, by tier). If you reject the first preview of your site, your setup fee is refunded in full.
How do revisions work?
A round is one batch of change requests on a preview. When your included rounds are used, further changes are quoted as change orders — we always tell you before anything costs money.
What about accessibility?
Automated accessibility checks are built in, not an add-on: structure, link names, a declared language, and AA contrast in light and dark. Every page passes those checks before it ships. If one of these checks slips through, fixing it is on us.
Can I use my own domain?
New sites launch on a yourname.kilnworks.studio subdomain. Custom domains are part of the platform plan — if you need yours connected from day one, say so at intake and a human will confirm what's possible before you pay.
How do I cancel?
Anytime, no lock-up. Your site stays live until the end of the period you've paid for; export your content whenever you like, before or after.
Why is there a setup fee?
It funds the actual build — design, copy, and launch — and it's honest filtering: we'd rather work with owners who are serious. It starts at $299, $499, or $799 by tier and is itemized on your quote.
